I am originally from Pembrokeshire in West Wales. My undergraduate studies were at Swansea University where I studied for an MPhys in Theoretical Physics focusing on Particle Physics and Cosmology. Following my undergraduate studies I spent two years away from education working a number of different jobs in order save to fund a masters degree. I returned to education studying an MSc in Applied Marine Geoscience at Bangor University.

Research Project:

At Bangor my masters research project investigated the fate of waste from dredging work at Holyhead harbour which was dumped in the vicinity of a proposed tidal energy site. From Bangor I moved straight to Lancaster University to study for a PhD where I am investigating the potential interaction between tidal turbines and the marine environment.
